DPM's newly commissioned Vareš plant is exceeding expectations

Since commercial production at TSX- and ASX-listed DPM Metals' Vareš silver/gold mine started on August 10, the plant is consistently exceeding an average 60% of design throughput capacity and recoveries.
DPM explains the plant's daily throughput has averaged 72% of its design capacity over the past 30 days, which is exceeding the company's benchmark for commercial production and reinforcing confidence in the stability and consistency of the processing plant.
The mine, which is located in Bosnia and Herzegovina, is on track to achieve its full production run-rate of 850 000 t/y by the end of the year. In fact, the company expects output from Vareš to be in the upper end of the full-year guidance range - 105 000 to 230 000 gold-equivalent ounces.
"Achieving this milestone for Vareš ahead of schedule is a testament to DPM’s track record of building, expanding and optimising mining operations, as well as our commitment to unlocking value by investing in our people and our assets," says DPM CEO and president David Rae.
He adds that the company has been focused on training and leadership development of the local team, which has laid the foundation for Vareš to deliver near-term production growth for DPM and long-term value for shareholders.
