ECR appoints operations manager for Australia ahead of Maddens production start
London-listed gold explorer ECR Minerals has appointed Mike McRae-Williams operations manager for Australia ahead of the Maddens project in Queensland starting with production in the fourth quarter.
McRae-Williams assumes this non-board management role after ECR acquired Paleogold, where McRae-Williams worked as exploration and production director.
He offers 35 years' experience in the mining industry, particularly on projects acquired by ECR through Paleogold.
ECR chairperson Nick Tulloch says McRae-Williams's appointment comes at a pivotal stage for the company as the Maddens project approaches production and ECR increases operational activity across the wider Maddens Flat Group of Mines - in which it owns a 50% interest. The Maddens Flat Group of Mines comprises six mining lease sites where mining previously occurred.
Tulloch expects McRae-Williams's combination of processing, metallurgical, underground and alluvial experience to be invaluable as activity increases across the broader Maddens Flat portfolio. He also has detailed knowledge of the Salt Bush gold project in South Australia, where ECR owns a 20% stake.
