Eldorado confirms Skouries mine connection to national grid amid ramp-up
TSX- and NYSE-listed Eldorado Gold Corporation has successfully connected the Skouries mine, in Greece, to the national power grid, with permanent grid power connection supporting the mine's advance to commercial production.
Skouries can now progress to ramping up to steady-state operations after recently producing its first volumes of gold and copper concentrates.
"Connection to the national grid provides a reliable long-term power source for the operation and supports the continued advancement of processing and mining activities as the project progresses toward commercial production expected in the fourth quarter of 2026," says CEO George Burns.
Skouries is expected to produce 140000 oz/y of gold and 67-million pounds of copper a year over its lifetime.
