Emerita appoints Belan chairperson

TSX-V-listed zinc, copper, lead, gold and silver explorer Emerita Resources has appointed Joseph Belan executive chairperson effective September 9.
He succeeds David Patterson who stepped down as chairperson and director.
Since Belan's appointment to the Emerita board in June, he has been actively involved in the affairs of the company, working closely with other directors and management in reviewing Emerita's projects, internal processes, organisational capabilities and various legal proceedings.
As chairperson, Belan will take a more active role in the leadership of the company and will work with the board and management in setting strategic priorities for Emerita.
"This is an important time for the company, with an opportunity to look forward and develop a strategic plan that can deliver shareholder value," Belan says, adding that his focus will be to realise the full potential of Emerita's assets.
Emerita in July announced the appointment of Ian Fodie as CFO while Joaquin Merino remains on as interim CEO after the resignation of David Gower earlier this year.
Emerita is exploring in the Iberian Pyrite Belt of Spain.
