Sonoro makes two key VP appointments for Mexican exploration excellence

TSX-V-listed Sonoro Gold Corporation has promoted Oscar Armando González Peña to exploration VP and Melvin Herdrick to senior VP for Mexico.
Gonzáles has worked as exploration manager and chief geologist at Sonoro for the past nine years, contributing significantly to the delineation of the mineral resource at the company's flagship Cerro Caliche gold project.
"His extensive expertise of the region's geology and epithermal systems has been critical to the project's recent concession acquisitions and advancement of the current drill campaign," Sonoro states.
Overall, Gonzáles has 23 years' experience in mineral exploration. Prior to joining Sonoro, he was involved in the geological exploration and resource development for multiple mineral projects held by Fresnillo, Kimber Resources, Yamana Gold and Premier Gold Mines.
In turn, Herdrick worked as Sonoro's exploration VP since 2018, bringing to his new position more than 50 years' experience as a professional geologist with a strong background in evaluating technical feasibility of mineral deposits.
He has led discovery and exploration programmes on multiple gold, silver and copper sites in Mexico, having worked as chief geologist at Phelps Dodge and as geology VP at Pediment Gold Corporation.
