Swedish high-purity graphite producer Talga inks offtake with Japan's Dainen Materials

Swedish graphite miner Talga Group has signed a binding offtake term sheet with Japan's Dainen Materials for the supply of Talga's Talnode-C high-performance anode material from Sweden.
Dainen has been extensively testing Talnode-C against the most rigorous specifications of its Japanese battery customers.
The agreement positions Talga as a new Western supplier of high-performance, traceable and low-emission natural graphite anode material, supporting Japanese industry's focus on more secure and independent strategic supply chains.
Dainen will procure up to 2000 t/y of Talnode-C capacity for five years starting late in 2027.
The partners aim to execute a definitive master supply agreement by March 2027, which will confirm final purchase volumes.
Talga operates the Nunasvaara South graphite project in Vittangi, Sweden, and plans to build the downstream Luleå anode refinery. The plant is poised to produce some of the highest grade natural graphite resources in the world - averaging 25.6% graphitic content. Talga has been operating a smaller plant since 2022 with a capacity of 50 t/y to produce trial-mined material for customer qualification.
The full-scale anode refinery will produce 19500 t/y of Talnode-C.
