AngloGold makes early option payment to Matsa

ASX-listed Matsa Resources said on Wednesday it had received an early A$1.5-million option fee from AngloGold Ashanti Australia, the second installment under an agreement granting the gold major an option over tenements at the Lake Carey gold project in Western Australia.
The payment, originally due by December 20, 2025, extends the option period under the previously announced tenements option agreement, Matsa said in a statement.
Matsa received the first option fee in June 2025 and also a A$5.7-million reimbursement for tenement-related costs covered by the agreement. In total, the company has now received A$7.2-million from AngloGold Ashanti.
A further A$1.5-million option fee was due by June 20, 2026, unless AngloGold Ashanti withdrew from the option before that date, Matsa said.
