Artemis restores Blackwater milling after gearbox failure
Precious metals miner Artemis Gold has resumed full milling operations at its Blackwater mine in British Columbia following a temporary shutdown caused by a mechanical failure earlier this month.
Operations at the Blackwater mine were interrupted for seven days after a gearbox failure on the ball mill on March 11, with the component now replaced and milling activities fully restored.
The downtime was shorter than the initially expected eight to ten days.
Artemis cautioned that first-quarter production for 2026 would be lower than previously anticipated owing to the interruption. However, the company has maintained its full-year production guidance of 265 000 oz to 290 000 oz of gold, with plans to recover lost output over the remainder of the year.
