MEXICO CITY - Canadian miner Capstone Copper on Monday announced a $3-billion investment plan in Chile's Atacama region, according to Chile's mining ministry.
The investment plan, which will allocate $2.3-billion to the Santo Domingo project and a further $220-million to two short-term projects at Mantoverde, is expected to double Capstone's copper production in the country by 2031.
Construction at Santo Domingo will require more than 8000 workers at its peak, the ministry said.
