Digi Power X pivots to AI data centers with ARMS modular infrastructure
03 December 20255 Mins read

Digi Power X Inc Edward Karr joined Stephen Gunnion from Proactive to outline the company’s strategic transition from Bitcoin mining into the rapidly growing tier three data center market, powered by its proprietary ARMS technology. ARMS, which stands for AI Ready Modular Solutions, is a containerized, modular, and highly scalable infrastructure system designed to dramatically accelerate the development of tier three data centers.

Karr explained that the ARMS containers operate as “building blocks for data centers,” allowing Digi Power X to rapidly convert existing power infrastructure assets into fully functional data centers. “We can start very quickly and scale up on a much faster timeline than a hyperscaler ever could,” he said. This approach is intended to meet the surging demand for AI-optimized computing infrastructure while significantly reducing traditional construction timelines and capital intensity.

The company has filed a provisional patent for its ARMS technology, which is being developed through a joint venture with Super Micro Computer. Each modular container is equipped with Supermicro racks featuring Nvidia Blackwell 200 chips, which Karr described as state-of-the-art tier three processors specifically designed for high-performance AI workloads.

Deployment of the first ARMS containers is already underway at Digi Power X’s Alabama facility, marking a major operational milestone in the company’s transformation. Karr confirmed that the initial containers are expected to be live by the end of the year, with potential tenant announcements anticipated in 2026. The Alabama site is projected to scale rapidly from 1 megawatt of capacity to as much as 40 megawatts by the end of 2026.

Karr also pointed to significant future expansion opportunities at Digi Power X’s additional sites in North Tonawanda, New York, and North Carolina, which could further extend the company’s footprint in the AI-ready data center market. The transition positions Digi Power X to capitalize on accelerating global demand for advanced computing infrastructure driven by artificial intelligence, cloud services, and enterprise data needs.
