Fury Gold Mines appoints diversified expert as project development VP

TSX- and NYSE-listed Fury Gold Mines has appointed Mario Courchesne project development VP effective immediately.
He brings to the position more than 40 years' experience in engineering, process development, feasibility studies, due diligence, construction, operations, site infrastructure and demolition.
Fury believes Courchesne has a deep understanding of all project phases within the mining industry, particularly owing to his experience with Cambior in the gold sector, Stornoway Diamonds in the diamonds sector and Rio Tinto in the iron-ore sector.
His appointment comes as the company advances the development of the Eau Claire project, in Quebec's James Bay region, including work on technical programmes, to which Courchesne will help ensure disciplined execution and project optimisation to advance towards a feasibility study.
Fury also announces the resignation of exploration senior VP Bryan Atkinson effective April 30 owing to another career opportunity.
