Hudbay adds mine service provider stalwart to board

Canadian base and precious metals miner Hudbay Minerals has appointed Thomas Schulz director, bringing to the position extensive leadership experience in the global mining industry.
Hudbay chairperson David Smith says he is confident that Schulz has the strategic insights to oversee Hudbay's continued growth and strong pipeline of brownfield and greenfield projects.
Schulz is currently also CEO of German industrial service provider Bilfinger, which has a global footprint in the process industry.
He previously headed service provider to the mining industry FLSmidth and worked for more than a decade at Sandvik, including as president of the engineering group's construction division.
Hudbay currently owns and operates the Constancia mine, in Peru, the Copper Mountain mine, in British Columbia and the Snow Lake operations, in Manitoba. Its growth projects include Copper World in Arizona, Mason in Nevada and Llaguen in Peru.
