Resolute secures mining permit for Doropo

The Côte d'Ivoire Council of Ministers has officially announced the award of a 14-year mining right for ASX- and LSE-listed Resolute Mining's Doropo gold project, paving the way for the Africa-focused gold mining company to increase its yearly gold production above 500000 oz by the end of 2028.
The award of the mining permit is the final governmental approval required to launch the development and operation of the gold project, with the official Presidential Decree expected in the weeks following the Council of Ministers’ meeting. Resolute expects to make a final investment decision on the project soon.
“We are very pleased to be awarded the mining permit, which marks a significant milestone in the development of the Doropo gold project and reflects the strong support we have received from local and government stakeholders.
"We look forward to unlocking value for our stakeholders by progressing the project towards construction in the first half of 2026. The recent definitive feasibility study outlined the extremely strong economics of the project, with a post-tax project net present value of $2.5-billion at a gold price assumption of $4000/oz, with significant upside potential," says Resolute MD and CEO Chris Eger.
